Journal Entry - Danny

Hello World.
UggggghhhH!!! We have been so busy lately with everything. Worst part is This is just the beginning, The Single comes out on Nov. 2!!!! IM SOOOO EXCITED!!! So we will be doing a bunch of appearances and shows!!! We have been in the studio recording new songs and just finishing up soooo Much...Thanks to Marshall and the rest of the Team that truly make it happen. :O I was in Miami Today and realized how much I truly love this City. It inspires me Alot and got me thinking... all together, I'm learning alot about myself through this whole process... Trying to gain more experience for more inspiration for the future.

I thought about doing this whole journal entry thing so everyone can get a better understanding or point of view on the type of people we truly are. I will say for myself, nothing makes me happier than touching people with my music, And on top of that...Doing music with people I love and truly care about. We always say that we are really close and nothing will break this band apart. (but thats what every band says before "the evil girlfriend" comes along.) Just kidding. (no...really.)

Like Marshall says we are at a critical point in our career, Either we make it or break it. But man Oh man Will we make it. Alot of this "band stuff" is all about egos to me...if alot of people just put their egos aside everything would be awesome. Either that or you clone yourself 6 times and learn how to play every instrument. lol. But that will never happen. (unless your Ryan Leslie).

Well, I realize by doing these little journal entries, how A.D.D. i truly am. lol. Cannot stay on one subject...Cupcakes, Milkshakes, Mixtapes, and skyscrapers. I will end this entry by thanking the people who truly support me, My band, and My Dream, GOD BLESS YOU ALL & THANK YOU!!!!

Drake Apologizes To Head Of Motown For Slam....

Drake Apologizes To Head Of Motown For Slam
'I'm a person that usually handles things with much more tact,' MC says.

By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway

Normally, Drake makes headlines with his music, which has led him to become one of the most buzzed-about MCs in recent years.

But this week the Toronto rapper's unexpectedly candid comments about Universal Motown head Sylvia Rhone have further stirred blog fodder that began with his dismissive line about the executive on a track titled "Say What's Real," from his breakthrough mixtape So Far Gone.

In an interview with MTV News this week, Drake apologized to Rhone, saying his comments — both in the song and in a recent interview — were "emotionally charged" and "very brazen."

"I can definitely say for me, for furthering the negativity, I can definitely say I apologize," Drake told MTV News. "I don't know her personally to discredit her character. It's not the right thing to do."

The tension seemed to reach a high point between the parties this past week.

First, when Drake's comments in the upcoming issue of the Fader magazine got out, he reportedly said, "I don't f--- with Motown at all." Drake has maintained he signed a deal directly to his management company and secured distribution through Universal Republic, rather than signing with the major label directly.

However, on Thursday (August 13), Billboard suggested that Universal Motown execs have put their foot down and demanded that all work from Drake be stamped with the Motown logo.

Although Drake did not get into specific details, he explained the issue to MTV News, saying that as an aspiring artist a few years ago he was set to have a meeting with Universal before it was called off. He admits it's common, yet at that point in his career, he was hurt. He described it as the first time he was hurt by the music industry.

"There's a lot of people with schedules beyond the average person's comprehension," Drake said. "And at times they prioritize. And a new artist that has made this long journey [to meet] from another country, they may not be their biggest priority, so they may get pushed to the side. The situation, I don't want to get into too many details. It was basically [me] feeling trapped. I was courted by somebody and then they just axed everything. I was stuck. They disappeared. And I couldn't find anybody to talk to about the situation. And then to meet again a year later and to have this person forget they ever met me and say that I should go meet at their office so we can talk about signing me. I was kind of in one of those moments like, For real? [But] everybody has those moments where things aren't gonna go perfect."

With so much attention being paid to the rift, Drake said he wanted to say sorry to calm the brewing dispute.

"I was looking for an opportunity recently to apologize for how vicious I've been," he said. "Not to say I negate my feelings — I still feel strongly about it. But I'm a person that usually handles things with much more tact."

Quotes....

Kinda slacking on the blog posts....but here on some quotes... :)

"The price of greatness is responsibility, Every great man is unique,Man is only truly great when he acts from the passions, Let us consider the nature of true greatness in men. The people who can catch hold of men’s minds and feelings and inspire them to do things bigger than themselves are the people who are remembered in history. . . . those who stir feelings and imagination and make men struggle toward perfection."

Woman sues comedian over `Bruno' skirmish.

LANCASTER, Calif. – Sacha Baron Cohen's new movie is already getting the same sort of buzz and legal backlash that came with his last hit. This time, though, a woman is alleging injuries far beyond just a bruised ego or reputation.

Richelle Olson sued the 37-year-old actor-comedian and NBC Universal on May 22, claiming an incident at a charity bingo tournament that was filmed for the upcoming "Bruno" left her disabled.

Olson claims she was severely injured after struggling with Baron Cohen and his film crew at the event in Palmdale, Calif., two years ago. The lawsuit states she now needs a wheelchair or cane to move around.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages of more than $25,000.

Phone and e-mail messages left with publicists for Baron Cohen and NBC Universal weren't returned Wednesday.

His 2006 film "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan" produced numerous lawsuits by people claiming they were duped and humiliated by his antics. A New York judge last year threw out claims by a driving instructor and two etiquette teachers after determining they signed agreements releasing filmmakers from liability.

It was unclear whether the incident involving Olson will appear in "Bruno." The lawsuit mentions contracts that Olson apparently signed, but claim they were entered under "duress" and included several misrepresentations.

"Borat" was a surprise box-office hit, earning more than $125 million in the United States.

In "Bruno," scheduled for release July 10, Baron Cohen plays a flamboyantly gay Austrian fashionista. Much like in "Borat," Baron Cohen's humor depends on cajoling people to let him into events and he then tapes their reactions to his outlandish behavior.

The character is already making a splash — a sketch during Sunday's MTV Video Music awards had Bruno dropping onto Eminem with his crotch placed in the rapper's face. It became the show's most talked-about moment.

Olson's lawsuit contends Baron Cohen has 30 sham companies that help him pull off his ruses and that is how the comedian and his camera crew gained entry into the Desert Valley Charities' bingo tournament in May 2007.

Baron Cohen was invited to the event because his handlers identified him as a "celebrity" who was filming a documentary on bingo, the suit states. The event was to raise money for nursing students.

According to the lawsuit, Baron Cohen — in character as Bruno — started using vulgarities while calling the second bingo game in front of a mostly elderly audience.

A struggle ensued after Olson tried to grab the microphone away from Baron Cohen. She claims he then called his camera crew over, who attacked her for at least a minute, hoping to "create a dramatic emotional response."

Olson's suit states she ran from the stage and was found moments later by a co-worker, sobbing uncontrollably. She then fell to the floor, hitting her head on a concrete slab.

The suit states she suffered brain bleeding as a result.

The lawsuit, filed in Lancaster about 70 miles north of downtown Los Angeles, was first reported by celebrity gossip Web site TMZ.
